Want to cross cut anything larger than a 2x4? Miter gauge will be hanging off the front not guiding anything. You have only 4 inches of table between the front and the leading edge of the blade. I too made a rolling cart that the saw lives on and gives me ample outfeed and side space for long and wide board ripping, the indeed is far too small to comfortably use a crosscut or sliding jig of any meaningful size. The other major issue I have with the saw is the the lack of in and out feed space. The fence is accurate and I love the rack and pinion dial adjustment, but it is not rigid or large enough to attach many jigs to. The reason is that while the saw is built ok and performs well at what it was designed for (a jobsite saw made for ripping plywood and 2x lumber) I have found it severely lacking when trying to do more complex operations for making furnature. I have the dewalt, (for about 10 months now) and it has been a great saw, but I will be replacing it next spring with a proper contractor or cabinet saw depending on budget.
